River Lune Bike ride through Lancaster & Morecambe

What a piece of luck! The weather was sunny but  damp. On Sunday morning, we met at Brian's house on Queens Drive at 9:00am. After a cup of coffee we set off to Glasson Dock which is 3 miles South of Lancaster.( Very scenic.) Derek and Anna's dad Brian joined us by car. We set off on the River Lune through Lancaster over the Millenium Bridge and onto Morecambe. After a short stop for photo's with Eric Morcambe's statue, we continued onto the Leeds Liverpool canal path. Three miles along we crossed the Viaduct, decended a steep set of steps back onto the River Lune cycle path. Back over the Millenium Bridge into the 'Duke of Lancaster' Pub for a well deserved Lunch and drink. A short ride back to Glasson Dock and  we had all covered 25 miles. Everyone enjoyed the day out with no incidents................

Happy Days - Things to remember

1) Les fell off, as the half marathon runners were not concentrating
2) We all got wet feet
3) Christine rode up the only hill
4) It got colder as the light faded

Feedback:  Can we ride further next time ?
Reply: We aim to do 40 to 50 miles per day - So yes
