An 8 am pickup on Saturday morning, all 10 of us travelled to Conway, we had breakfast at Tesco's & where then dropped off at the Castle walls, we picked up National Cycle Route 5 which runs from Holyhead to Chester. We rode from Conway to Queensferry. As we came off the the causeway we followed route 5 to Llandudno & everyone wanted to ride over the 'Great Orme' so we made the steep climb upto the cafe at the furthest point, views were great. Road climbed to approx 300m. We descended into Llandudno & followed route 5 along the welsh coast. Weather was good with a couple of short showers. We stopped at Rhyl after covering 25 miles (Half way). As we approached Flint, the coastal pathway disappeared & we did not want to go into the hills so we stayed on the A 548 to Flint then to Queensferry, we had arranged to meet Alan with the van in Asda car park where we had tea & coffee. We had covered 52 Miles total & finished back in Liverpool for 5:15 pm. Everyone enjoyed the ride
Things to Remember: Les left the maps in his car.... The girls did not expect the Great Orme to be as steep Ha Ha..... North Wales is Caravan Hell ..... The shared Cycle paths were well kept..... Views of North Wales Coast were Great ....... Wincups, Pontins, Silver Sands holiday camps, brought back Memories of Childhood .............
